Terms and Conditions

All mountain guides of the Pre-Season Camp Engelberg work under the general booking conditions of the Swiss Mountain Guide Association.

Here are the most important extracts & adjustments:

General
A booking at the mountain guide agency Engelberg will be forwarded to a certified mountain guide by the carefully selected team. The AGB’s of the individual guides may vary slightly.

Covid Special
Engelberg guarantees a free cancellation of your booking (hotels, train tickets, restaurants, activities) until 48h before arrival:
– official restrictions on travel to Engelberg or back to your place of residence
– official restrictions of the booked tourist businesses or activities in Engelberg
– in case of a Covid19 suspected case in the travel group with medical certificate

Registration
The registration is done via the booking form on the website www.pre-season.camp
After receipt of your registration we will confirm it immediately by e-mail and it will be considered binding. Since offers and courses may be fully booked, we recommend early registration. Your personal data will not be stored in our customer database and cannot be viewed by third parties. Your use is limited exclusively to business activities (information for tours, consultations, newsletter dispatch).

Payment
Upon receipt of the booking confirmation we will send you an invoice as PDF. This must be paid at least 20 days before the tour or course starts. Short term bookings must be paid immediately by credit card or cash.

Cancellation
In case of a contract withdrawal the following costs will be charged:

Up to 21 days before the start of the course:
processing fee of Fr. 60.
20 to 10 days before the course starts:
50 % of the all-inclusive price
10 to 0 days before the start of the course:
100 % of the all-inclusive price

In case of premature termination during a course by a participant, no refund will be made. Furthermore, we reserve the right to cancel a course at short notice in case of insufficient number of participants. All amounts paid by registered persons will be fully refunded. We recommend that you take out travel cancellation insurance.

In case of extreme external conditions (e.g. ski area closed, very high avalanche danger) we offer a comparable tour in another area. If it is not possible to offer such a program, we will refund the full amount.

Insurance
Personal insurance coverage is the responsibility of the participants. The participant is obliged and responsible to provide sufficient insurance coverage. In addition to an obligatory accident and health insurance valid for the respective tour, a travel cancellation costs insurance is explicitly recommended. Furthermore we recommend the membership with the Swiss Rescue Airline REGA as a patron, as this membership includes insurance protection regarding rescue and recovery costs.

Legal questions/liability/compensation
As qualified mountain guides with a federal certificate, we manage the risk in the mountains professionally. As an outdoor activity in nature, it is never possible to exclude all risks, despite the appropriate professionalism and care. By booking, you acknowledge remaining residual risks and dangers and waive any claim for damages or other claims against the organizer.

Program changes
As activities that take place in nature, skiing and mountaineering are exposed to meteorological influences, which on the one hand is part of the fascination, but on the other hand brings about short-term program changes. Therefore, the mountain guides reserve the right to make such program changes in appropriate conditions, always trying to put together an adequate program. Possible additional costs are at the full expense of the participants.

Place of jurisdiction
All disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Swiss courts, regardless of the nationality of the participants or the place of damage. Place of jurisdiction is defined according to the location of the mediated organizer.
